Writing Project 2022
It was an exciting day at The Grange today as we announced the winners of the writing project. The school has been buzzing with Barnabus talk.
Each class teacher, nominated a progress and endeavour award. The Endeavour Award was for those pupils who showed great enthusiasm and ‘gave their all’ to the project. The progress award was given to pupils who made the most progress with a particular aspect of their writing. This could be anything from progress with handwriting, spelling or more technical aspects of writing.
Our progress winners were:
Cherry: Emily
Hazel: Fraser
Pine: Lewis
Rowan: Louie
Birch: Ronnie
Elm: Annie
Cedar: Archie
Sycamore: Ben
Our endeavour winners:
Cherry: Emily
Hazel: Teddy
Pine: Eda
Rowan: Wilfred
Birch: Emily
Elm: Ellie
Cedar: Erin
Sycamore: Summer
Additionally, the class teacher picked two pieces of writing for the Best Writer competition. Mrs Hopwood was given four pieces of writing, which were anonymized from each year group. She was told to pick the writing that she most enjoyed reading. It was a tough task, as the standard of writing was so high. Today was the big reveal and the winners were announced in assembly.

A big thank you to Mrs Murphy for all her hard work to make this a highlight of the year for The Grange. Another thank you for the amazing displays that we can enjoy for months to come; lots of hardwork by teaching assistants and pupils alike.
