  • Xmas Show

Wed 21 Dec 2022 Amanda Hopwood

The whole school went to see the Snowsmith by Henry Madd and Peter Morton at the Hertford theatre.  The atmosphere on the coaches was excited anticipation.  Year 6 sung their hearts out as they had a party coach driver. The Grange took up all the seats in the theatre which is sent up in a circle square.  The performance included puppets and stage affects with some excellent live singing.  Everyone laughed and thoroughly enjoyed the performance.  The best thing was all being together as a school having a shared experience. A great end to the term.

  • Living the value of Generiosty

Sun 11 Dec 2022 Amanda Hopwood

To show the Agora Value of Generosity in action everyone has been busy donating coats, dressing gowns and toiletries for Sebby’s corner https://www.sebbyscorner.co.uk/. The collection bins were overflowing.

In school on Friday all pupils put generosity in to action.  Year 3 were busy making Xmas cards for people who will be alone for Xmas or living in care homes. Year 4 taught each other new skills.  Qing, Qing taught her peers some Chinese writing, Chloe taught her classmates piano and Archibald shared his science knowledge. Year 5 spent the afternoon making Christmas decoration for other pupils in school to take home.  Year 6 made Christmas cards for Sebby’s corner.  They were ‘Secret Angels’ and did good deeds for a chosen person all week. They finished Friday by being excellent reading buddies to year 3.

Generosity was shown by the making and giving of cards and decorations, as well as the giving of time and generous acts of kindness. Living the values has helped children’s wellbeing and awareness of others.

  • Christingle

Sun 11 Dec 2022 Amanda Hopwood

On Tuesday 6th December the whole school visited St George's church for a Christingle service.  Pupils spent the morning learning about the signficance of Christingle and making one to take to church.  Pupils walked respectfully to church where they met the Chrstingle puppet.  Prayers, reading, singing, and the lighting of the candles made it a very magical services.
