Take a look at what we've been up to...
All pupils in Agora were given the task to research a specific king or queen in British history. Pupils were allowed to be creative in the ways they shared their findings. Henry VIII was popular, as Nova put it - so many wives! Nova, Ava and Huxley were picked as the top 3 pieces of homework from The Grange. Nova for her stunning artwork. Ava for her awesome artwork and attention to detail. Huxley for his excellent comic strip retelling of Oliver Cromwell vs King Charles II. His depiction of Oliver Cromwell's warty nose is terrific.
Sainsbury in Letchworth kindly donated some fruit for the jubilee parties as par of their helping everyone eat better campaign. So kind! Thank you Val for organising.
Using skills from their Design Technology curriculum Year 5 made pasta salad and cup cakes for their picnic.
The party was inside and out! Thanks to the weather! But it didn't spoil the fun.
A great time was had by all dancing thro the decades. A BIG THANK YOU to all those who came to spectate.
Thankfully the sun stayed out for fun, food and games.
Ten Year 6s represented the school at the North Herts School's Mixed U11 Cricket Tournament this week at Letchworth Cricket Club. It was a great day (despite the break for thunder and lightning) and the children played three matches.
It was a steep learning curve as it was a new style of cricket called Dynamo, which has replaced Kwik Cricket. All scores are recorded on an app and the batter receives a free hit off a 'tee' if there is a no ball or a wide. Each batter receives five balls and every team member bowls an over.
The team were really resilient and after losing the first match, put all their learning into the second match and won by a whopping 46 runs!
In the third and final match, the children really shone. Lucy K hit 2 sixes and 2 fours in just one over! Emily C surprised even herself with her accurate bowling. Freddie hit some boundaries as did Kyle and Ronnie.
The children were excellent team players even though they were pipped at the post in the final match by just 10 runs.
Thank you to all the parents who transported the children and supported during the day.

Check out the whole school performance of The Eye of the Tiger - its grrrrrrreat!
The weather didn't dampen the spirits. We had the picnic outdoors and the games and dancing inside. Lots of fun was had by all.
Food, fun and games.
Today was the Agora jubilee day and everyone was dressed royally! The day has been spent learning about George VI and seeing how he influenced our lives today. This learning was shared with two other Agora schools, Meryfield and Albanwood who shared their learning about Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. Educational and fun!
