Take a look at what we've been up to...
On Friday, year 4 replicated volcanic eruptions in their well-designed and painted volcanoes. Last term their geopgrpahy topic was volcanoes which linked to the Romans, Italy and Pompeii. They used their science knowledge and mixed chemicals to create a chemical reaction that produced carbon dioxide gas. The food colouring was purely for authenticity. Squeals of delight and smiles all round.
In order to launch this year's writing project, based on the book Midnight Fair, The Grange Academy became a fun fair today. Children read the book, made animal masks and then, on a rota, they visited stalls set up in every classroom. The popcorn and inflatable slide were a big hit. We were particularly pleased to welcome years 1 and 2 from Northfields Infants to join in the fun of the inflatable and share some popcorn. An amazing time was had by all. A big thank you to staff for their efforts in giving the pupils a fun -filled start to the term and launching the hugely valued and enjoyed writing project.
